A photo series reflecting on soccer's presence in everyday spaces during the World Cup.
A photo series inspired by seeing soccer show up in spaces we least expected.
We watched Scots in Boston, Algerians in Lawrence, Kansas, Brazilians in Philly, and countless other international communities bring the pride of their home into cities that weren't traditionally associated with their culture. For me, the highlight was seeing these cross-cultural takeovers embraced and celebrated by the communities around them. Hosts and attendees were both left with a new perspective and appreciation for our similarities and our differences. International connections were being made in corners of the US you’d least expect.
Those moments moved me to create Places We Play. I hope you enjoy seeing the impact and presence of soccer in everyday spaces.
